In response, Miami-Dade's Public and Transportation (MDPT) has proposed building more highways. However, in 2018, MDPT approved a "Better Bus" program aimed at redesigning and improving the bus network to increase ridership and provide better connections. Despite this, there have been no recent updates on the progress of the program.
